I unfortunately mislead myself into thinking this would be a breeze because others on this site had a seemingly easier time. Remember that your journey may be easier or harder. Our backgrounds leading to surgery sound identical. I was also diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation although asymptomatic. After talking with Dr. Chikwe, I decided to not wait until developing symptoms before having the valve repaired. Dr. Chikwe and her team performed my robotic mitral repair Sept 19. They are absolutely amazing. The surgery went very well and the entire team at Cedars Sinai was caring and personable. I am currently walking four miles a day. They will all take very good care of you!

Our backgrounds leading to surgery sound identical. I was also diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation although asymptomatic.
