Hello Judy...You have certainly had your "Heart" Full...... I am sorry to read how much you have gone through but happy that your fighting spirit has been able to withstand the challenges and will be praying for an easy procedure on the 16th with your pacemaker being inserted. Hopefully things will get to a knew balance and your body will adapt to having the help which is a "good thing". You take it easy in the meantime while you are waiting for the 16th. You are very fortunate to have the love and support of your husband and let him know I know too just how important a role he plays in your keeping your spirits high and attitude up! Thoughts and prayers are with you Lady. Love and Hugs to you both.

Judy Aylward I was in surgery on the same floor when the doctor was killed. My husband and daughter were evacuated from the building. It was very scary for them. At the time, they didn't know if I was in danger. The surgeon and medical staff continued with my surgery which lasted about 12 hours - they must have known about the shooting, but continued the surgery through it all. I have so much respect and gratitude for them. I didn't find out about all this until I was at rehab 3 weeks later - which was probably for the best. I had enough going on. My thoughts and prayers went out to Dr Davidson's family.

Welcome to our ♡ club! Hope everything goes smoothly for you and that you can rely upon tons of us here that we will be in your corner. I see your in the Boston area..as I am in the Hartford area. I have a consultation also at Brigham and Womens with Dr Byrne on Jan 8 for my severe mitral regurgitation then also trying to see about talking to Dr Adams in Mt Sina before making my choice. I'll be interested to hear of y I urge experience st B&W

Welcome Judy! this is a great site for information about valve surgery. The people here are great too, good support, prayer partners and spending time while waiting and explaining their journey. I had my Mitral valve replaced almost 4 months ago. For me the wait was the hard part- the valve was too damaged for my wish for a repair. I am doing very well, just finished cardiac rehab, and just saw my cardiologist after my 4 month Echo- everything is working as it should! No journey is identical, but I think you will find recovery is better than the unknown of waiting. Just rest, lots of rest, deep breath, and move- walk a bit more each day and you will be on your way. Feel free to ask any of us, including me any questions, and read any of our journals if you want to read of our experiences!! Take good care!

Judy Aylward Thank you Nancy, the waiting is hard. I'm happy to hear about your experience - it does give me hope. It has been helpful to hear about the other journeys, as well. I've always been relatively healthy, so this has come as a surprise, but I'm thankful that today this can be fixed. My mother died from heart disease over 30 years ago. With today's technology she may have lived longer. I'll be in touch. Thanks
