Hi Joy,
I’m glad to see a yoga instructor here! I had just completed my 200 hour teacher training in April when I was suddenly short of breath and in AFIB. What a shock!
I’m scheduled for mitral and tricuspid repairs next week. I’m encouraged by your blog.
I’m wondering when your movement became fluid, when you could move your arms overhead, do a forward fold, triangle.....yoga movement is like breathing.
Congratulations on your recovery!
Annie

We were all excited (and some clapped) when Jenny announced her last day would be July 18th. Everyone is anticipating your return! She is OK but not YOU. Unfortunately the tomatoes are done. I pulled up all the plants today. I collected some green tomatoes hoping they will turn. If you are a fried green tomatoes person I can drop some by. See you soon.

Joy Vera I'm looking forward to coming back too, Judy. Glad you all found Jenny OK. I felt very fortunate that she was willing to fill in for such a long stretch. I've never made fried green tomatoes so I'd better pass on those. We sure enjoyed the red ones though. Thanks again for those.

Joy Vera I agree although that is only part of the reason. I have at least 3 doctors' appointments that fall during that period & I'll have to miss those sessions. So, even then, I'll still get in 3 per week. That said, you are right - the primary strategy was to move through rehab more quickly. Miss you all too.

Joy Vera Hi Sharon. Prior to surgery I was taking Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor, but it was discontinued at the hospital & I'm not taking it now. For what it's worth, I didn't have a cough while I was taking it. I'm not coughing as much as I was after my last surgery when I developed the pleural effusion that ultimately required the thoracenteses. It resembles that one though, in that, I either barely have it in the morning or not at all. It develops as the day progresses & is present more in the afternoon/evening. When I lie down to sleep, it's gone again. Strange, huh? I'll be seeing my surgeon next Wednesday & one of the questions I have is - do you hear any fluid on my lungs? He knows about the issues I had last time & the fluid problem is why he had me stay at the HH so long. I'll ask about an echo too. Thanks for checking in & for the link.
