Hey surgery twin! I just want to let you know today how lucky I feel that I have you to commiserate with. It always makes me feel better when you share. I feel the same way about walking yesterday and went to target and did my 8/10 of a mile. It wasn't easy. So I know exactly how you were feeling thank you again heart for the for your support ! I came out so strong and the doctors are so thrilled so I was on top of the world the first couple weeks. I think getting back into life is the hard part I've been through enough recovery in my life to understand the process. Remember I'm here for you Too! ❤️

Hey John how are you doing? I've been thinking about you because I'm at 4 weeks too! So interesting how the last few days have been hard for me . Tired, etc. I think there is a tremendous amount of healing going on right now all of our energy is utilized for healing .So just to reassure you I think I'm kind of in the same place , needing a little more rest and definitely some sternum pulling and tugging going on, and not so motivated. I get a little impatient so I'm trying to just ride the wave and meet myself right where I am Hope your recovery continues to go smoothly and you get well soon ! 💕

John Jones Thanks Jeanette. I just got back from my first post op doctors visit. All is well. I think my problem is that I forget that my body went through a very traumatic experience only four weeks ago. When I get up in the mornings and feel good, I start to do more than my healing body can handle. Before I know it, I am flat on my back exhausted. It sounds like that is a common problem for many of us. I am now making a conscious effort to stop my activities long before I feel tired. I think this approach is going to be a key to my recovery. Thank you for asking. I am glad to hear that your recovery is going well. Hang in there and keep on going.

Sonny Abbasi I am very frustrated because until last week I was feeling great. Now I am re-running a low grade fever like I had in the hospital with the stuff in the bottom of the lungs. I had to go to the doctor today and ask her to do a chest x ray (I haven't had one since I left Cleveland). I stopped the breathing thing a ma chig because I had been feeling fine. Tomorrow I am going back to the opthamologist to re-check vision test. This stuff feels like week 3 is getting worse not better.

John Jones Sonny, hang in there. My first week out was the best I had until this past Tuesday. I think I may have been running off the meds in the hospital and the magnitude of the surgery had not caught up to my body yet. It does get better.

John- There are many things in recovery that come up that can make you feel uncomfortable (especially early in recovery) and weakness can be from the positions you were in during surgery where your body is trying to readjust or from medications you may have been given that are having an effect on your body as well. I can remember early on in my recovery that I had times of weakness which in part was tackling "stairs" too early and far too many times until my cardiologist set me straight. In truth, John and your lovely wife.....Any time you are uncertain of what your body is doing that you don't know why, is a reason to find an advice nurse within your "team", a phone call to or visit to the ER if you are really uncomfortable with what you are feeling, a call to a primary physician if he/or she is familiar with your cardiac circumstances and trained to give you that kind of a response. It is also quite common for post-op patients to feel anxiety once home again as it is a lot different from being on a floor of people only focused on you whom you know are ready with answers....SO please make sure YOU are doing what is best for you whether or not you end up having to
get checked out professionally or make phone calls to be safe and give yourself the least amount of stress. In many cases it is just having the Dr. lessen or increase medications that help us get our strength back and keep the balance in our recoveries going. I hope you find your answers and are
comfortable as your recovery progresses.

John, I was telling my husband about you and living so close to us. We know it is a long shot, but by any chance did you graduate from West Henderson? My husband's best friend was a John Jones. He has great memories of a John Jones. His name is Jimmy. We are thinking about you as you prepare for Monday. Prayers for a quick recovery and comfortable stay in the hospital. I can tell you Baptist is outstanding as my father had surgery there and we were very pleased. 🙏 NC heart brother

John Jones Mary, I'll be thinking of you and remembering you in my prayers as the 14th approaches. Maybe our families can manage to meet up somewhere around Mooresville this fall when we have recovered a little. One of the things I find interesting is how I can relate to so many people so quickly because if this heart condition and website. I'm not much on social media but this is different. I would imagine it is similar to other people with different circumstances. Take care and maybe we can share a meal in the future. FYI. I've been a fan of Big Daddies since the days there was only a stop sign at I77 and 150. That's a long time ago :)
