I am going to have to not be a hero and take pain meds again...I just hate taking them however, I need to sleep.
The pain relief medication is only for the short term. But I know how you feel about taking them.

Hi Jackie, today is one wk since i had my mitral valve repair ( min. invasive procedure). I only had pain in my chest one day which lasted 15 min. after i received Meds. Question: Did you find that beta blockers helped decrease your heart rate. Mine is been 110-120... Read more.
Yeah the beta blockers have helped a lot. My heart rate stays down in the mid 80's. I take 75mg 3 x a day. The doctors experimented with those until they found the right balance. Otherwise my heart rate resting was sitting at 100-105. Not comfortable! Get better !
