Hey Eric, I read your blog, I’m glad you’re recovering good. I too had the same surgery; the surgeon replaced my aortic, put a sleeve on my aortic arch and did a bypass June 25, 2020. Right in the beginning of the COVID lockdown in California. I just had my five year check up and doing great. I hope you too will have many success’. Jim

Hi Eric. My husband has a very similar story to yours. Aortic aneurysm found quite accidentally on an echo the doc almost didn't order. He had no symptoms, either. He did have a bicuspid valve, which we did not know about until this. Two weeks later, he had a new bovine aortic valve, a new aortic root, and his ascending aorta (and part of the arch) replaced with Dacron. This was in September 2023. He had surgically-induced a-Fib after, but it rectified itself. He also had to have a lung aspirated afterwards as it filled with fluid. But, he has been perfect now ever since. He's back to golf, pickleball, walking, windsurfing, etc. It's like it never happened. I hope you will be as good as new soon. He had his surgery at NYU Langone in NYC. Best wishes to you.
