Chris Engel In rehab hospitalnow after a tough surgery. Surgeon had to deal with unforseen things that could only be seen one e I was opened up. The bicuspid valve leaves were fused in a really strange way that required reconstruction of aorta and annulus. Had to go with mechanical valve . So,, good surgeon and now in a good place to get rehab, which mayturn out to be a stroke of luck.

Every 6 months I go to my doctor and he says my is just fine.Chris i,m glad we were born when we were because they did not have this type of operation good luck and let me know how you are doing.

Chris Engel I'll be getting an Edwards bovine valve - a mechanical valve is out of the question now, and just as well, given my propensity for getting those conditions that only 1% of the population get. How has your valve worked out?

Chris Engel Thanks, Bob - we've had to wait on the angiogram until the blood count gets back to normal. I'm having weekly blood tests to monitor that to ensure that the bleeder, if active, doesn't go unspotted for long. The heart surgeon said that the surgery itself will take place towards the end of April if all goes well. So, I've got lots of time to work on this and prep (ie: lose some weight, check out recliner rentails, etc).
