Hi Chris,
I am very happy that you are enjoying every day of your life especially after the surgery! I think your optimism is adding even more to your daily joy. Having good health is definitely something to be thankful for, and I hope it stays that way for a long time.
I am 25 years old, a dental student, and scheduled for Ross Procedure in Cleveland Heart Clinic this summer. I am very excited to be healthier, have more endurance, and be able to play sports.
If I could ask you some questions: How was the pain in the first two months after the surgery? Was it bearable? Did it affect your mental focus? Do you think I can recover soon enough to be able to study for 6-8 hours a day?
Have a wonderful week!

Chris Dixon Hi Martin!! I actually built a small fence 3 weeks after surgery and was climbing the walls to do more! I didn't really like the feeling I had on the pain pills and actually alternated Tylenol and Advil. To be honest, I was more afraid of sneezing than anything else! Pain was not the challenge for me, it was the flu-like symptoms and difficulty sleeping that some folks experience (I did have some complications during surgery). I slept with a stack of shirts next to my bed for about 2-3 weeks after surgery. Then it just stopped! There is a little bit of a brain-fog that hangs around but it clears up fairly quickly. And hey, you're 25! :-) Email me at rcdixon76@gmail.com if you want more details. Please tell me your surgery date when you know it so I can pray for you. You got this amigo.

Hi Chris, it's Ken - we chatted here a bit just after your Ross, if you remember.... I was Stelzer's Ross #201, at Beth Israel in 1998. I'm glad to see you're doing so well! It's really good news. I'll be going in next week to have the valves replaced again (and part of the aorta), at Yale this time, by a guy who comes highly recommended. I'll leave my e-mail in case you'd like to chat. I'll probably be writing updates on here, anyway.... Again, glad to hear you're in such good shape!

Hi Chris and Happy 5th birthday. There are a whole bunch of us coming up on that wonderful year. Keep doing awsome with many more to come. Elsie and I are doing pretty good as well. She talks to me a little louder but right now I am under a lot of stress in selling and moving back to Ohio.

Hi Chris. Hope all is well. It's about time I schedule my valve replacement and wanted to get some advise. How is your recovery going? Any major setbacks? I am contemplating the Ross Procedure but also looking at an artificial valve. I am 40 and I am having a real hard time with this decision. I am curios to know how you come to the decision you did. Thank you for your time.

Thanks.
