Hi Brandie, I also had mvp with severe regurgitation and had minimally invasive repair surgery 5/16/23 in Raleigh NC as my family didn't want to travel to Ohio, by Dr Bryon Boulton. I can honestly say to you that the worst part of my surgery was waking up with that breathing tube. I doubt that will happen to you, they said I was having a hard time breathing on my own is why they left me on it. All the fear and dread is super real, but they have come so far with this and the doctors at the Cleveland Clinic have done so many of these surgeries, that you will be amazed at how pain free and routine this is for them. I wish you all the luck in the world and there are so many nice people here to give you support and hopefully ease your worries. (Beware of this guy named Richard Munson and his dog Shadow. They're always lurking around here somewhere lol! He was a great help and inspiration to me.)

Chris Germano Hi Brandie. I couldn't get my direct message to send, so I'll post it here. The Cleveland Clinic seems like the very best
place to go. I'll be getting a new aorta valve there a week after you,
with Dr Roselli. Wishing you all the best that everything goes well.

Hi Brandie - I just joined the community and I too am traveling to Cleveland for Mitral Valve Repair (Barlow's Valve) - PreOp Oct 27-29 and Surgery on the 30th. I had initially contacted Dr. Gillinov but after reviewing my case, due to his schedule and not wanting me to wait, he referred me to his colleague - Dr. Per Wierup - so that is who will be doing my surgery. If you would like to chat or visit about our upcoming journey, please let me know! Wishing you all the best! Sondra

Hello Brandie,
I joined this community only a few minutes ago after following Adam's YouTube site for a couple of months. Your's is the first feed that I came across, and you happen to have the same condition as mine. I am also scheduled for surgery at the Cleveland Clinic with Dr Marc Gillinov, same as you.
I just wanted to wish you all the best for your procedure on Oct 21st. I am sure it would be a great success. Sounds like you might be preparing to travel to Cleveland soon for your pre-operative tests starting Monday. Good Luck with everything.
Ravi
Brandie Shea Hi Ravi! Thank you so much. When are you scheduled for surgery?
