You will be in my thoughts and prayers the next couple days Andy. This is going to well for you. Ah sure, they’re going to poke a lot of holes in you and you’re going to feel some pain, but just think how blessed you are to have that great family love on you and take care of you as you recover. Soak it up man - you know you would do the same for them. How lucky for you (really) if you love March Madness. You can chill and watch it ALL - no one will judge you for it! 😜
Seriously, God’s peace and blessing. Trust the process and stay strong.

Elaine Phares Andy, a lot better than it seems. You will do great and be on the other side of this before you know it. Those of us lucky enough to have support of family and friends are doubly blessed.

Andy I’m new to this forum I had exactly the same condition as you. It’s normal to be anxious about the surgery, it’s not that bad, I was wanting to do more than my drs wanted me to do after three weeks. I had mine done thirteen years ago it’s been a blessing and have very few lifestyle changes. Message me anytime with any questions you might have. As far as valve replacement and artery repair I’m an old timer. Had it done when I was 50 and still leading an active lifestyle at 63.

I was so touched by your story, and the love and support you have surrounding you. No doubt, this will help your recovery tremendously. Thankfully, I have my husband and a small circle of close friends here in the Bay Area, but most of our relatives are back East and in Europe.
I've been scared shitless myself through these last 8 months, but now that surgery is sxhedulednfor March 8th, I am extremely grateful to learn that the surgeon feels he can repair my mitral valve. Like you- Im anxious too. We will be recovering from our surgeries a few days apart. It makes me very emotional, but I am also trying to find the blessings in all of this. When I am calm and tuned in to myself- I see they are there, and I hope you find them too. I wish you well and will follow your story.

When I was told about my ascending aneurysm, I had the same reaction as you. Scared to death, dreading the surgery, ect ect. Fast forward 1 1/2 years, and yes, I got through it quite well. It was a big surgery, but nowhere near as bad as my mind made it out to be. If I made it through, you will also! I hope you can find some acceptence and peace as you await your surgery. The waiting and overthinking is the worst part. All the best to you!
