Send Elaine a NoteAbout Me
With no other symptoms than a heart murmur found at an after hours clinic, I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve a couple of weeks later by my newfound cardiologist. My dad had this almost 20 years ago and had the surgery to replace the valve with a mechanical one and had three bypasses at the same time.
He died almost 5 years later (didn't check his levels, didn't take care of himself.) I was on the phone with him when he died at 68. He said "I feel dizzy" and was gone.
I WILL NOT do the same. I will take the precautions and care I need to live a long life. I have a lot to look forward to...already have a grandson who is a little over 2 and his parents are expecting a little girl in April. My other daughter, after a couple of years of trying, has told me that they are having a baby in late August. I have a great husband and we have saved up to retire in the next few years. He will not be spending that money without me! haha.
I am so excited to have found this website. I have already gleaned so much info from it and look forward to possibly helping someone else who is going through it.
