I wish I had access to update my dads account to update his page but this will have to do.
Sadly on the 25th August 2017 Alan Scully passed away unexpectedly due to a brain hematoma caused by an unknown source. The suspected incident happened while abroad and only manifested itself 2/3 days after the impact. Dad was still on his daily dose of warfarin and living life to the fullest.
The warfarin caused the impact not to clot but build up over time with a slight headache until there agonizing pain which he was rushed to the hospital with. Later diagnosed with a right right hematoma. Due to the bleeding and persistent swelling, this caused additional injuries to his cerebellum and brainstem which later caused death.
This was a man who loved life to its fullest, was always at the doctors and was taken before his time at 60 years of age. I wanted to share this story with everyone using warfarin to be mindful of any injury and to seek medical attention right away no matter how small.

Dear Friend from Dublin,
It is great to hear you are doing so well! Keep up the good work! Don\'t know if you remember me...Dennis Young, Edmond, Oklahoma. I too had HV surgery two years ago and we corresponded back then. Life certainly has been different (and better) since then and I am so glad we have that event behind us. Enjoyed your post, thanks for do that...you are the only one I have heard from since in a long time, so it was nice to hear some good news from someone. (I probably should post something also.) Stay Well!
God\'s continued Blessing in your good health!

Hi Alan,
I too am celebrating my 4 months from surgery tomorrow. January seems so long ago........
I had the same issues you had with fluid around the heart, needing to be readmitted to the hospital and having a drain for a few days. Then I was able to get back home and begin to heal. I began Cariac Rehab on Valentine\'s Day-Feb.14th and am finishing this week (36 sessions). I am healthy and feeling normal. I don\'t return to the doctor until July and hope at that time to be taken off of all the meds.
Glad you are as in good shape as well.......and yes, good thoughts to Ruth!! May she see better days in front of her!!!

Top Of The Morning To You
Great news about your recovery. Cardiac rehab does make a difference. Glad you are rewarding your wife and yourself with a trip to FL. Be prepared for the heat and humidity. That\'s why my sister and Kilkenny born brother in law go to Ireland in the summer to get away from Florida\'s heat. Enjoy life and your healthy heart.

Back in December, you were the one of the first people to post on my guestbook. It looks like we are both now able to look back on our recent surgeries. I trust you are doing well, recovering quickly and have a smile as big as the one in your profile picture! A friend of mine told me the surgery is a piece of cake and recovery is the hard part...now I know what he means. I think I would agree! Continued good luck to you and prayers to you and your family while you prepare to get back to a renewed \"life\" on the post-op side.
