Today, My Thoughts Are With Sarah & Steve

By Adam Pick on December 14, 2011

I just spent some time at Heart Valve Journals, our social network for patients and caregivers going through heart valve surgery.

While there, I noticed that Sarah Harnett, from Michigan, and Steve Regouby, from Oklahoma, are getting their heart valves fixed today.

Steve Regouby (Aortic Stenosis) & Sarah Harnett (Mitral Valve Prolapse)

As Sarah wrote in her journal this morning, “Shortly I’ll leave for the hospital. Thanks for so many for the encouraging words on the blog and in cards, on the phone and in person.”

Last night, Steve wrote in his journal, “The day is at an end. Off I go to bed. Hopefully, a few hours rest. Then, off to the hospital at 5:00 am. Family and friends will be there to encourage me. Wow, that’s love, getting up at 4:30am to go and wish someone well in surgery.”

If you would like to learn more about Steve and Sarah as they proceed through their surgery and recovery, please visit their journals by clicking these links:

Keep on tickin’ Sarah & Steve!

My thoughts are with you!

I am 62 and need mitro valve repair or replacement surgery. I live in Minnesota but will go any where in the country to get the best hospital and surgeon. I may not be able to have repair but am wondering about the robotic surgery for either repair or replacment. Perhaps robotic is not for replacement. It is very difficult to find out information on where to go. I am needing it done in the next 6 months. Please advise me….Barbara
