First, let me thank Adam Pick for making this journal possible. It provides for the articulation of the actual process which not only clarifies it for my friends but makes it understandable to me. I am slowly experiencing a return of physical strength, flexibility and energy some 12 weeks after my 8 hour surgery for the repair and replacement of 3 heart valves. I have had no expectation of faster recovery so I am not disappointed - but I am happy to experience my progress. I have been taking advantage of the Hoag Memorial Hospital (Newport Beach) Rehab Program. The nurses and the facilities are excellent and I have no doubt that the program is aiding my recovery.
