Ed is five days away from open heart surgery for the new aortic valve and LAD bypass. Dr. Jeevanandam at University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC) is his surgeon. We've learned alot in preparing for surgery, Adam's book "The Patient's Guide to Heart Valve Surgery"is great, and the internet has a wealth of information too. You Tube has posts by patients regarding their experience of recovery. All very good and great information. The biggest decision seems to be which valve to pick...mechanical or tissue.
