I am a 53 year old female with a strong family history of heart disease. My Dad died at 49, my brother died at 39 and my daughter was born with a congenital heart problem corrected at 20 months. Also, my Mom had a heart attack at 68 and is fine today. I went in for a cardiac work-up and was informed my leakage was moderate to severe.I was told about 12 years ago I had a mild leakage and it has progressed to severe. I am having surgery tomorrow, March 2 at Mount Sinai in NY with Doctor David Adams. I have read all your stories and you all have helped me more than I can ever convey. I was going to watch from the sidelines and not post, but I thought this is not fair after I have gained so much knowledge from this site. So now I wait, as others have said I am at peace and feel I have done all I can to have a successful surgery. I will post as soon as I can. Thank you all so much for your help!!
