About Me
Hi. I am a retired 55 year old firefighter. I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve. Ten years ago I was diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis. I have been seeing a cardiologist since then and now it is time for surgery. I have always been an active person, but shortness of breath, fatique, heart palpitations have become the norm for me lately. Late Nov. last year I had an echocardiogram performed and told my cardiologist about my symtoms. Test results showed severe stenosis and regurgitation. A cardiac cath was done in Dec. with a recommendation to have surgery. My surgery is scheduled for Feb.6th. I have read Adam Picks book and it has been very informative. I know now that I am not alone. Will continue to read stories and hope to have my own story to tell!
