About Me (In My Own Words)
In 2013 I was diagnosed with a sub acute bacterial infection that affected my mitral valve and caused Mitral Valve Regurgitation and my valve was flapping. The two doctors that helped me the most was my infectious disease doctor and my surgeon. They helped me to understand the risks, and come to my own conclusion of the replacement. We are now in 2024 and it has been a little over 10 years ago at age 27 when I had this procedure. What is next for me I guess would be to finding alternative to Warfarin. Perhaps an Aspirin therapy? With higher dosages like 500mg aspirin? Haven't seen that tested clinically yet.
