About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with a heart murmur when I was 21. It was subsequently diagnosed as due to my having a bicuspid aortic valve. On 2 January 2015, my cardiologist found that my I had severe regurgitation and moderate stenosis and recommended that I replace my valve immediately as I had no other risk factors.
Dr Caleb, who is the head of the cardio thoracic surgery department at the National University Hospital Singapore was highly recommended and he agreed to take on my case.
Unfortunately, various factors caused my surgery dates to be postponed since March 2015 and it is now scheduled on 17 November 2015.
I had chosen to use a tissue valve although this will mean replacing the valve in the future because I am not inclined to deal with consequences of warfarin.
I am praying for the Good Lord to give me strength to undergo the surgery and that the surgery be without complication.
