I knew I had a heart murmur at a very young age. I was always aware of my heart beats. Two years ago I had surgery and must have picked up a bacteria in the hospital. 4 months later I was back in the hospital with endocarditis. I was told at that time my regurgitation had gone from moderate to severe and would be monitored. I have had echo's every 6 months. I started having different symptoms so did the whole thing twice echo, halter monitor, EKG. It was obvious that my heart was enlarging due to the valve. I have an angio 11/30 and surgery 12/5 at Columbia Hospital in New York hopefully for a repair, but understand it might turn into a replacement. I am nervous about the procedure, but not the doctor or hospital. I have been reading all your journals and I am grateful for all the information they contain.
