About Me (In My Own Words)
I have been aware for years that I have a Mitral Valve Prolaps. It wasn't until I changed Doctors in December that I became aware of the severe regurgitation.
Off to see the cardiologist and several tests later (thank you Linda and Gary for your support and hospitality during those tests - I appreciate you so much) and then off to see the Cardio Surgeon (Carol - you were a trooper to spend the day with me and proved just how smart I always thought you were) It is time to have surgery to prevent issues in the future. Surgery is scheduled for May 16th.
So far all results and Dr. visits are very postive. I am scheduled for a repair and a minimally invasive surgery. Yippee!
There is nothing like a little bump in the road to remind you of how kind people are. Today I am having a recliner delivery by Gail so I will be able to sleep after the surgery. (Thanks Gail for your resourcefullness and constant support). Marilyn has offered to hang with me for a few days after the surgery (I will so appreciate your company, wise words and escorting me on short walks) Then there are those check in calls from Dale, Marilyn, Maureen, and Sue and Bill (Thank you Mom and Dad for raising such wonderful siblings)
It's a small world. My dear childhood friend Trudy is so so kind. When she heard my story she connected me with a friend of hers that is having mitral valve symptoms. We just talked and I was able to share resources with her. Is this God working??
I am grateful for Sue and Jon and for the raised toilet seat that I am borrowing from them. (they give more than just toilet seats - they love life) Geoff and Tricia promise to keep me calm and beautiful along the journey (They are both stylists and Geoff sings and Tricia is a yogi)
Work folks all the way up and down the ladder have been excellent. I feel so thankful for a great place to work.
And Maureen, thanks, just thanks. You understand and tolerate my quirks!
