About Me
I am a 71 year old retired Police Officer. After a slight tightness in my chest while swimming, I was diagnosed with a severely calcified Aortic Valve. This valve was replaced on May 18,2010.
I am in my forth week of recovery and have not needed any pain medicine. While in the hospital I developed a cough and a slight superficial skin infection on the scar. My blood test shows the white count to be normal and I have no feaver. The infection is dry and thus far is getting no worse or better. I am taking pills twice a day to correct this problem.
Also, I think due to the severe cough, there is a click, clack in my chest. My surgeon wants to, as soon as posible, completely re-open my sternum for re-wiring. There are no broken wires. Other than this I am recovering rapidly and feeling great.
I am inclined to re-evaluated in three months. I have also read on the internet that the click, clak in the sternum may over time resolve its-self. WOULD APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL COMMENTS. gellatlydave@yahoo.com.
