I wish I knew something to help you!! Just went through my second aortic valve replacement in 2 1/2 years . The first was easier but I did suffer from "pump head" and severe depression and anxiety that took 2 years and lots of therapy to help me . I am 67 and 4 months ago had to have that valve replaced and double by pass and have experienced a bad bout of afib ( gone now) , medication reactions galore and bleeding from Coumadin ( am off all meds now) and a pulmonary effusion that had to be drained . I'm just now starting to be out and about some and do some very slow aerobics . I still have some mental slowness but not as bad as before and I am seeing a therapist. But even with all my complications , I can't compare to what your dad has been experiencing !! I'm so sorry for both of you!!! Just a thought but have you thought of getting second opinions ? I know complications happen, but this is more than I've ever heard of . And maybe look up all his medications to check on all possible side effects, even rarely experienced side effects . In my experience , doctors are not always well versed in the possible side effects on all the drugs they prescribe and it has served me well to look them ALL up because many of my problems came from side effects rarely experienced by others . It's a thought anyway . I wish you guidance and hopefully someone can help more than me . Please keep posting so I know how things go. How lucky your father is to have such a caring son!!! Best of luck !!!
