I had Mitral Valve Repair done 2 yrs ago. My left ventricular is still enlarged from severe regurtation & leakage. My surgery was success, however I suffer from AFib now and more frequent dizziness that is brought on by drop in blood pressure. (90/57, 93/60 etc) I have had 4... Read more.

I had a mitral valve repair done 1 year ago. Ever since then I occasionally get Pericarditis. This usually subsides in a few days with rest. This week the squeezing, pain, shortness of breath, and fatigue were awful! I have been to the ER twice since Christmas and the tests... Read more.
I'm so sorry Vicki, pericarditis is awful. I'm 2 years out from surgery and I have had it three times. Each time I was put on a 6week regime of colchicine and indomethacine. What have you been given and for how long? Was your cardiologist able to visit you in... Read more.
Vicki - sorry to read your news. I know that it is a common complication and I remember when Tracy was going through it. I hope it is quickly resolved and this is your last encounter with it.
I haf it just after my OHS and had to have a 2nd surgery to drain 1 liter of fluid and put in a pericardial window. Felt much better after that and never had it come back. I'm sorry you have to experience this!
I am so sorry! I had a pericardial effusion ( flash flood of fluid around the heart) one week after surgery and was hospitalized for 2 weeks with surgery to drain the fluid. I had a reoccurrence of pericarditis about three weeks after that. Getting it treated appropriately and for... Read more.
