I'm trying to find an answer to why I have excruciating pain on top of my shoulder blade. The pain stabs down like a hot kniife. I have all my doctors involved but no one I understands the horrible pain. I can't function.

I don't even notice the heart surgery pain or sternum pain. .

Oh no! That's awful. I had a lot of pain in that area too. It had an almost numbing effect on my arm too. I just assumed that it was from the odd position I had to be in for so long and that I wasn't able to relax completely... Read more.

Well after Xrays they believe that the rotator cuff has torn ligaments. They believe that it was from the position I was in during the surgery. They did a shot of a steroid and the pain was almost eliminated. Will see where I go from here!
