Vicki Zimbric I’m trying to find an answer to why I have excruciating pain on top of my shoulder blade. The pain stabs down like a hot kniife. I have all my doctors involved but no one I understands the horrible pain. I can’t function.

Phyllis Petersen Oh no! That's awful. I had a lot of pain in that area too. It had an almost numbing effect on my arm too. I just assumed that it was from the odd position I had to be in for so long and that I wasn't able to relax completely for awhile after. I was using pain meds for several weeks after. I think about twice a day at first, then down to bedtime. No one seemed to think that was a problem. I hope you find some relief soon. Living with pain is really heavy on every aspect of your life.

Vicki Zimbric Well after Xrays they believe that the rotator cuff has torn ligaments. They believe that it was from the position I was in during the surgery. They did a shot of a steroid and the pain was almost eliminated. Will see where I go from here!

Hi Vicki! Praying for you that all goes well with your surgery tomorrow and that your recovery is total and complete. I had my mitral valve repaired on November 19, 2018 and after more than 7 weeks post op, each day I'm seeing more improvement. You'll be fine and on the recovery side before you know it.
