Hi Rick, sorry the news was given to you like that. I had severe aortic stenosis and i had my surgery last september 11. You are very fortunate to have found this website. It is a blessing for those who are newly diagnosed or are about to undergo surgery. I wish i had found this before my surgery. Just keep your chin up and read and watch videos on Adam's website. Hi Rick. It is definitely shocking when you get the news about surgery but maybe it's better not to know too far in advance. I got to hear that news 10 years before I had the surgery and found it to be extremely stressful to deal with. I am thankful that I knew what the problem was (since asymptomatic for me till the very end) however maybe one or two years to think about it would have been sufficient. Of course I will be looking at an additional surgery in 10-15 years again now. What can you do? I don't feel as stressed now knowing it was not as horrible as my mind took me to.
