Can TAVR be used to replace an aortic valve in a patient that needs a new aortic valve? I watched the video about debris but it didn’t address the debris of an old valve.

Doing well heart wise two years post op. Had the full sterno second time. First time was 2009 which was an emergency surgery for aortic dissection. Very scary. I was told then that I would need an aortic valve replacement within the next 10 years. It was actually 6 years later. No one told me how depressed I would be after an emergency like that. PTSD for sure. So I am just letting you know that is normal and to get help if you experience the depression. I didn't have after my second surgery for the valve replacement, I think because I knew what was happening whereas with the first one I didn't know until I was out told after the surgery itself. Beware of depression!

I have been running a low grade fever 99-100 for 10 days now. My aortic valve surgery was almost three weeks ago. I have been to the ER where they did blood cultures, all the blood tests, chest x-ray, CT scan and have found nothing My primary doc put me on an antibiotic for sinus because I was have some sinus congestions. Has anyone experience this fever thing?

Jackie Owens I had the same issue and had to go back to my cardiologist. They did an ECHO and found a small pocket of fluid around my heart. It was a terrible feeling to have those fevers everyday. It cleared up with 7 days of steroids.

W. Carter I didn't experience it after ohs or maybe don't remember, I was doped up in the hospital for 10 days after surgery. I just had a hernia operation 7 weeks ago and I did run a fever for about a week and a half afterwards. All I wanted to do was sleep and I wasn't hungry. I felt like I had a flu. So your condition is probably just caused by recovery. You will probably soon feel great.
