I am sitting on a bicuspid av with a diameter of .8 cm squared. Ejection fraction is good and no sign of left ventricle hypertrophy and my cardiologist has not yet triggered an operation, but the time is nearing. I only see him once a year after echo cardiogam (next echo this Fall) so what do your cardiologists think about my and others valve condition re Covid?

Kimberly Eisenhut I have similar questions. I have moderate to severe tricuspid regurg and aortic aneurysm of 4.0 and always worry more about what would happen if I contract COVID. I'm getting so tired of constant worry and anxiety associated with this and my cardiologist does not really say much about it when I ask. Maybe we just need to be as careful as possible and if we do, which we all probably will at some point, get a form of COVID, handle it the best we can and hope for the best. These past couple years have been extremely difficult for me with feeling so isolated. Anyone else?

Marie Myers My surgery was almost 5 years ago, and I asked my cardiologist about my risk last year. He was quite confident that I was at low risk. But that said, I got double vaxxed and boosted as soon as I could get vaccinated. So far so good. I do still wear a mask in crowded settings, and we have limited our going out to Restaurants. I would say we are still Being cautious.

Richard Munson I had my shot after valve surgery but waited a month or so until my heart bounced back a little.

Kimberly Eisenhut I had both shots and booster, but wonder how much protection they offer at this point I guess. I really do not want any more boosters! I got quite the reaction from 2nd and 3rd ones. High fever for 3-4 days and just miserable. I did read there is another vaccine option coming that is not MRNA. That would be nice if it does not come with the side affects. I will be going to a restaurant for the first time in 2 years for my granddaughters birthday on the 4th, and I can't help but be a little nervous since mask mandates are over now. "Give it to God" I guess, at this point.
Much Love to ALL! 💖

Kimberly Eisenhut Lol, Richard, thanks for the giggle :)
