Hi everyone, I wanted to share an update on my health. For the past two years, I have been seeing a cardiologist and getting EKGs every six months to monitor my Mitral Valve Prolapse. My condition has recently progressed to Mitral Valve Regurgitation, meaning the valve isn't closing properly and oxygenated blood is flowing backward. I am meeting with a surgeon on Monday to discuss options for either repairing or replacing the valve, as well as deciding between a robotic procedure or open-chest surgery. I am hoping for a robotic repair, as it offers a better success rate and a quicker recovery. I feel fine overall and am keeping a positive outlook. I will keep everyone updated here once I know more after Monday's appointment.
