I will have mitral valve repair and a maze procedure on Friday Oct 16th, its seems pretty scary, I have been online looking for as much information as I can so I understand and know as much as I can before my surgery, My surgeon suggested I search for Adam Pick heart valve and here I am! so far pretty great! Terrie Syvertsen Hello Pamela- I am sure you will hear from some of the community who have had a Mitral Valve repair and a maze procedure hopefully before your surgery on the 16th. or have an opportunity to communicate with those of us who have had surgery and will be helpfully supportive to you as you begin your journey through both surgery and recovery. While it is scary preparing for any surgery please feel comforted by the experts who perform these surgeries and the great teams put together to get you through it all! I had an aortic valve replaced a year ago(at 66) and hope that you feel like I did knowing how wonderful it is once you are on the other side and the wait is over, the fear is calmed and your life continues with a mended heart and all your life plans can continue. I wish you well and will say a prayer for you on the 16th and keep an eye on word from any updates. Take care and find your confidence for your big day!
