Update (bicuspid valve with severe AS): Had my stress test on 8/21 which went very well🙏. Yesterday was my follow up with cardiologist. Because I did so well on my stress test and have remained asymptomatic, he would like to see me in three months. He emphasized that I MUST pay attention to my body & call him the moment anything changes. When I see him next, IF nothing has changed, they will do another TTE. In the meantime, I am trying to live my healthiest lifestyle (GP is coaching me!). I am very thankful that I am doing well but sometimes I get fearful of waiting for this to “get worse” and part of me just wants to have the inevitable surgery tomorrow. Trying to focus on the goodness of God 🙏.

Rita Savelis It sounds like you are being followed closely. I was followed for 6 yrs before surgery. Cardiology visits were every 3 months. When I developed symptoms (which not every patient does), it was still up to me to decide when to have surgery. Take care.

Hi all! My name is Pam. I'm 61 y/o. 15 years ago I was diagnosed with a congenital bicuspid aortic valve. I am currently asymptomatic. However, the results of my recent echo this week have confirmed that I have now progressed to severe aortic stenosis and a valve replacement will most likely happen in the next 6-mos to a year. The next steps are several tests: stress test; TEE and; LHC. Procedure will be determined once all test data is collected. Looking forward to sharing my journey with this group. 😊
