I am 56 with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve and an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm of 4.9cm, and I need surgery. I would like to know people's opinions on the best surgeons. I live in the Denver area, but willing to travel to find the best surgeon and hospital.

Hi Nate, I would check with your insurance company first and make sure you are covered in other areas. I was told by my cardiologist that it's better to recover in your own bed and not a hotel bed but to each is own. I guess I liked the reassurance... Read more.

Hi Nate - I had exact diagnosis 9 months ago and had surgery at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland - Dr Lars Svensson - excellent care, totally back to myself now, but did take awhile.Wishing u the very BEST! ❤️❤️❤️

Hi. Do you have any friends in the medical profession? Could be a nurse, and anesthesiologist, an physical therapist, a respiratory therapist. Their "behind the scenes" info and recommendations can be invaluable in helping to find just the right surgeon for you. Best of luck.

Hi Nate. You may want to speak with your insurance if you are planning to not pay 100% out of pocket for your surgery. I was surprised to find that if I went over 100 miles away, the cost would have been substantially more. Not to add stress to an... Read more.
