Michael, for what it's worth, I think you made a good decision. It's amazing that you got nearly 20 years out of the first one. I'm hoping for that. I had my aortic valve replaced when I was 59 so I'd go for a TAVR then.

51 here....thinking of the Ross Procedure for myself.... TAVR when I'm older.

My 19 year old prosthetic Aortic valve will be re-replaced tomorrow with an Edwards Lifesciences Inspiris Resilia. A re-operation of this sort comes with some additional risk. I'm anxious about the surgery and recovery, but I am confident that my care is in the best of hands.

Thanks everyone! Today marks 1 month since my valve replacement. I feel good and am starting to be able to do more things physically, like walk on the hilly roads of my neighborhood. Still taking it slow, but am definitely on the mend.
