I finally received the all clear from my doctor! SAVR surgery was April 6 this year. Took a minute to get in and see him because of scheduling on my end and his end. Focus will now be diet, exercise and INR.

This is my first post.
I am a heart patient. I received 2 stents on Good Friday in 2017. Now, at age 59 being told my aortic valve is regurgitating at the high 30% level. Doc is going to do an echo this week to see if it's progressing.

Mark: I'm a 67 M. And tomorrow will be 3 weeks post SAVR. After a lot of research and consulting with my surgeon I opted for the bio prothesis cow valve. Surgeon was very convincing that, although making great strides, SAVR offered better life options over TAVR. When he laid... Read more.

I had SAVR at age 59 over 7 years ago. I was told my valve should last 15-20 years so I expect one TAVR. It's no picnic in the park but very doable.

Like the above I had a valve replacement at 63 vs TAVR. I thought I wanted the TAVR but conversation on this site and with several doctors made the decision for me a replacement. I was lucky enough to have a mini. I figure in 15 years with this valve... Read more.
