Susan Lynn Julie - If you can save the tooth with a root canal, you should do it. Removal of a tooth can cause shifting of remaining teeth and, eventually, alter your occlusion. Extractions also affect ability to chew and too many of them can ultimately affect food choices and digestion.
If your endodontist can give you a good result, keep your tooth. Also, be prepared, that tooth will need a post & core and a crown, as root canaled teeth can become brittle and are susceptible to fracture. You might want to find out how much it will cost before making your decision. Best of luck!

Marie Myers I needed a root canal done just 6 months after my AVR and aneurysm repairs. I was very concerned, but took the antibiotics as directed and did well. Hope yours goes smoothly also!
