Hi I have rejoined this group again since I had surgical bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement in 2012 at 40 for bicuspid aortic valve with hopes that next replacement may be a TAVR. Cardiologist is recommending surgery within a year with a mechanical valve. He performs TAVR regularly but said I was too young for TAVR...I am 51. I thought TAVR was now being done in younger patients now...is that not true? I will review the TAVR resources on this site but any thoughts are welcome!

That's a question for the cardiologist or surgeon. I would definitely get a second opinion so you can feel confident with your decision. Do research as well. Please keep us posted. Godspeed.
