Having the TAVR surgery on March 5. Any suggestions for getting ready? I've changed my diet already. Met with the surgeons and really like them. Have heard from other people that highly recommended them. Looking forward to having a life again.

Hi all, I'm so happy this community website is here. I'm preparing for aortic valve replacement soon. Just had a heart catheter last week. One doctor told me not to use coconut oil it will kill me! Ok? Everywhere I look coconut oil is recommended for heart health. So now... Read more.

Olive Oil and Saflower Oil is way more healthy than Coconut Oil.

My diet is more or less dairy- and gluten-free, and as a result consume a lot of coconut based products. Nobody has said anything but I am concerned about coconut's saturated fat content. So where appropriate I try to use MCT oil (hoping the benefit outweighs its drawbacks), olive oil... Read more.

Thank you, I switched to Olive oil years ago but have been using coconut oil for popcorn. Heard popcorn was being made with avocado oil. I'll have to try it!

Stay away from all seed oils. Olive oil and Coconut oil are the best. I wouldn't listen to any cardiologist when talking about health. They know how to replace parts and give you pills to keep hearts going with medication. Heart disease is the number one killer. Of course heart... Read more.
