Hi All, My name is Jon and i am from Australia. I have had a couple of OHS for Aortic valve replacement over my 57 yrs and my surgeries have not impacted my life too much. My last surgery was 6 yrs ago in June, but since then my scar has been really itchy and a little tender to touch. I have tried creams but none seem to work that well. My question is wether anyone else has had this type of reaction with their scar and if so how do they treat it. Thankyou.

Susan Lynn John - Since the scar is six years old, you may want to touch base with a dermatologist. I have read about many heart warriors on the site complaining about their itchy scars, but it's usually in the weeks or months following surgery. Please keep us posted. Good luck.

My name is Jon and i am from Australia. I have had a couple of OHS for Aortic valve replacement over my 57 yrs and my surgeries have not impacted my life too much. My last surgery was 6 yrs ago in June, but since then my scar has been really itchy and a little tender to touch. I have tried creams but none seem to work that well.
My question is wether anyone else has had this type of reaction with their scar and if so how do they treat it.
