Curve ball is right.I have been reading everyone's advice and it has helped my husband too. My surgery is next Wed. in Memphis with Dr. Garrett.His father was cardiac surgeon also.My husband' worries how he can help me get out of the chair.I think he wants me to be able... Read more.

lots of folks here have rented an electric recliner. Not necessarily one that stands you up but can recline without pulling a handle. They have found that well worth the money for the first few months, especially early on when you can't lay flat in the bed. Also people recommend... Read more.

Thanks for the advice. I did frozen dinners for him. My son from Louisiana will be here and my daughter in Memphis will help.My son in Ct sent me a prayer shawl. Facing serious surgery gives you time to reflect.Nancy do you think returning to work is a possibility?

Jan, I am currently looking for work. However the large majority of current listings are 12hr shifts in critical care areas, work I didn't do as a young woman, and certainly am not entertaining those now! I am being very selective and am looking for Part time or PRN work... Read more.
