Hi all. I am currently 4 weeks out of arotic valve replacement surgery and over all I am doing well. My only concern is that I have quite a bit of numbness to the touch on my chest and left hand. Was wondering if this is normal and when I could expect this to go away.

Kimberly Eisenhut I had a mini thorecotomy on right side for tricuspid repair almost 3 weeks ago and still completely numb across right side of chest and under armpit. Yes, nerves, muscles etc. are cut/ damaged and take a long time to heal and repair . Actually worried at first, but now I'm just grateful my valve is doing well and that's what really matters, not some numbness. I do wish swelling would go down though, but can't complain👍❤️
