It takes time for those cut nerves to regenerate. Hopefully one of the heart warriors who have had this technique used will let you know how long the numbness will last.

I only had numbness in the far right fingers of my right hand. It lasted a few months and disappeared slowly. I was given a stress ball to squeeze to exercise it.

I had a mini thorecotomy on right side for tricuspid repair almost 3 weeks ago and still completely numb across right side of chest and under armpit. Yes, nerves, muscles etc. are cut/ damaged and take a long time to heal and repair . Actually worried at first, but now... Read more.

I also have numbness around the incision about - 3 inches around the perimeter of the entire incision.

I'm 4 months out from surgery and I still have numbness in my thumbs and first two fingers on both hands. I also have some under my chin I only notice when shaving. They told me it is not uncommon for nerves to get pinched and nicked during surgery. Nerves... Read more.
