It’s been just over a year since my aortic valve surgery in September 2025, and I wanted to share a quick update on how I’m doing. Overall, I’m feeling good and very grateful for the progress I’ve made. I’ve been making a real effort to stay active and have been walking daily. It feels great to be able to get out there, put in the miles, and continue building back my strength and endurance. My recovery did have one hiccup along the way. I developed a high burden of PVCs and ended up needing a cardiac ablation in August. That wasn’t something I expected to be dealing with after valve surgery, but it became another part of the journey. I’m continuing to follow up with my cardiologist and electrophysiologist and taking things one step at a time. Looking back at where I was a year ago compared with where I am today, I’m thankful. Heart surgery is a major event, and recovery isn’t always a perfectly straight line. There can be bumps along the way, but I’m feeling good, staying active, and continuing to move forward.
