Excited to be part of this group! I was diagnosed with a bicuspid valve and an aortic aneurism in 2018... it was a big surprise as the only symptom was a heart murmur. I was 69 and felt fine. I had open heart surgery in August 2018 at Cedars Sinaii. I have a bovine valve now! My surgeon was Dr. Alfredo Trento. He's the best! It's been 7 years and I feel great!! I'm so grateful that my life was saved....

Rebecca Vaughan Hi Genevieve. It is very nice to meet you. Your words have given me a lot of encouragement. My husband had mitral valve surgery 10 years ago and that is all working fine. His heart function is good but on his recent echocardiogram they noticed a mild to moderate leaky aortic valve and a dilated aorta. At the moment they have recommended blood pressure control and monitoring via repeat echocardiograms. He is under a cardiologist at Stanford University. But I have been very scared for him. Our daughter and her family live in Santa Monica. We live in Marin county in the Bay Area. I just came back from Santa Monica after visiting my daughter and her husband and my two grandkids. My husband is 58. I am very glad you have been doing well. Take care. Rebecca
