Fredie Smith  I would also like to state that this is my first time I'm new to this entire cardiac situation myself and my father were each other's caretakers but we both got sick and now they're refusing to do anything or give him any options saying that it's because he had a history with cancer but they also are failing to see that there are errors and mistakes in his medical chart that are serious and can be life-threatening and when they fail to even look into these errors or correct them any other doctor from this point forward is going based off of inaccurate information and these are serious items that are wrong such as saying he has a pacemaker that needed to be plugged in and that is why he's experiencing his problems when in reality he don't have a pacemaker but now but because they fail to look at these and check these errors and fix them and try to find out the truth he's run out of time my father shouldn't have to be planning a family meeting today preparing everybody for his death it is not okay and to withhold medications from him also they have done this telling me that insurance stopped payment what can someone in my position do and I apologize if this is coming out on this site or this place but I cannot for the life of me get him into any place without this being looked into and he has no time further damage was caused but not only that I'm not here to sit and focus on the bad but people need to be aware that it is a serious situation I doubt we even have until Monday but I don't know where to turn I heard that St Anthony's was where we're supposed to go or should have went but we couldn't get transferred there mydadiotis4@gmail.com

Patsy Stewart  Is there another hospital in your area? Did they say why insurance stopped payment? Call his insurance company. I would suggest taking him to the ER at a different hospital if at all possible. Also, if he’s on Medicare, seems like they can’t send you home if you don’t agree that you are capable. I would not transfer their medical records on him if they’re incorrect. Keep fighting for your dad!  

Susan Lynn  Fredie - Mitral valve regurgitation usually isn't an emergency. The congestive heart failure can be. Is your father having trouble breathing? If so, go directly to another ER, as Patsy suggested. If he's not in immediate need of treatment, call his cardiologist or primary care doc first thing on Monday. You may also want to take advantage of any advocate social services for the elderly in your area. They might be able to assist him, too. You'll definitely want to get his Medicare or insurance coverage issues rectified immediately. Without a method of payment, your father will be turned away unless his condition qualifies as an emergency. Best of luck to you both!

Rose Madura  Sounds like you need some sort of ombudsman to help you through this.  Here we have the Area Agency on Aging.  Maybe they'd be. Good place to start.  Or even AARP?  Just throwing out suggestions.  I'll pray for this situation to improve.
