I had tricuspid valve replacement surgery on February 3,2021. All went very well. I was discharged from St Joseph’s Hospital on February 7. I’m resting comfortably at home. I expect to be driving next week. So far, it couldn’t have gone any better. After 10 days, I notice a substantial improvement in my shortness of breath.

Liz Draeger Hi Frank. I agree with Rose, trust your doctor. Do not read internet stuff, it does not help but creates anxiety. Put your blinders on, put one food in front of the other and get ready. I had open heart over a year ago and never ready anything on the internet. I just prepared for surgery. It took every bit of courage I could muster. Recovery was slow but well worth it. I feel so much better. Every time you grow anxious, breathe deep and do your best to relax. I know this is difficult but important. Best to you and keep us posted!

Frank Ruffo Rose and Liz, Thanks for your comments. I know Dr. Hampton is an excellent surgeon, having performed many of these. I have one week to go before the surgery. I agree, reading too much in the internet can be depressing, so I’m focusing on a positive outcome. I’ll be in touch after the surgery. Thanks for your support. Frank
