I have been reading here since I found out I would need my aortic valve replaced due to bicuspid valve. I was reluctant to write, but I am 10 weeks out from surgery and still struggling. A week after surgery, I had to have a pacemaker put in and wondered if any of you had that happen. My resting heart rate stays at 110. We are waiting to see if things change. Getting a little discouraged.

Bob M Welcome to our awesome Community from a fellow Chicagoan. My aortic valave replacement surgery was on December 10, but I did not receive a pacemaker. I believe that someone here could be in a similar situation... A verse from Joshua 1:9: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Bob M Yes, we are heart buddies. I am truly blessed that my recovery has been uneventful. The only minor gap is that my rest heart rate is still at 95. I believe that it will be eventually reduced to 75.
