Sue Maize  Hi Dinesh! That’s great, I pray it goes well—I’m also likely having a Ross. You may be able to find him in the list of doctors on theRoss procedure.org which won’t tell you how many he’s performed but can be assumed a lot since he’s on the list (though my likely surgeon isn’t on there and has done over 300, so it’s an incomplete list)….or ask him yourself. From what I’ve read, it’s important that not only he, but the entire cardiac team, and the hospital itself is in the regular practice of doing them. They’re called “Ross Reference Centres” or “centres of excellence” . Don’t be afraid to shop around until you’re satisfied you’re in great hands! 

Susan Lynn  I agree with Sue! You might want to shop around. Competent surgeons and their facilities maintain statistics like baseball teams. They, and some state agencies, can tell you all kinds of information about procedure volume and success rates. Best of luck with your research.

dinesh eswararaj  Thanks for the reply. I have committed to my local surgeon for the operation date without even knowing about ROSS , now i have to let him  know that i got a ROSS surgeon. Feeling bad and nervous to tell him that i am going with different surgeon.

Sue Maize  This is your health Dinesh and you have every right to seek out the right surgeon for you. I understand that trepidation—I had it too, but you are the patient and this is your heart, and you want it to be in the best hands to give you peace of mind. All cardiac surgeons are no doubt excellent at what they do, but the Ross is a very specialized procedure requiring someone who does it regularly. Wishing you all the best! 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹
