I am 11 weeks post op with tricuspid/ mitral valve replacement. I am looking for others who have had this surgery or just tricuspid valve replacement. I understand this is one of the rarer procedures and no one in my cardiac rehab has had this done. I'm looking for any information I can find especially related to recovery time and length of time on Coumadin. Anybody have information on this? Thank you.

Rita Savelis Hello Diane. I had my aortic and mitral valves replaced and my tricuspid valve repaired in the same surgery. Recovery time varies but can be longer for those with multiple valve surgery. Your heart has been through a lot. I was told I would be tired for a long time, and I was. It took months to feel less exhausted. At 11 weeks it is still very early for you. I don't know if your mitral valve was replaced with a tissue or a mechanical valve. If it is tissue the doctor will usually take you off of coumadin after a few months. Ask at your next appointment. If your valve is mechanical, you will stay on an anticoagulant. Take care.
