So pulmonology says lungs are fine. They think its still the heart. Had an echo on friday, dont know the reaults yet. Tech did not look pleased though...
My cardiologist usually has someone coming to his office to do echos. He says it's a lot cheaper than sending me literarily across the street to the hospital. And so he will give me results immediately afterwards. The report will be uploaded the same time to the web portal. Having... Read more.
Repair of the mitral valve is the preferred treatment, but all mitral valves may not be repairable. It is so important to get another opinion if replacement is being recommended without a discussion about the possibility of repair.

Hey, so I posted on here and never came back. I wish I had. I had the mitral valve repaired and the Aortic valve replaced with a mechanical valve. I am already wishing I would have went with tissue. This thing ticks nonstop in my head, plus getting the right... Read more.
Im 7 weeks out from surgery and they've written me a letter for permenant disability
Hi. Sorry to hear about the complications. I can definitely relate with the ticking of the mechanical valve. It can be very bothersome. To me it feels like you have the crocodile from peter pan or the drum music from the Jumanji game on you at all times. I think... Read more.
Are you seeing a pulmonologist now? What are they saying?
Hi Ann, the crocodile from Peter pan is the perfect comparison. I am seeing a pulmunologist now. They are running tests.

Sorry for this diagnosis. Go slow - get several consults... You will want and need a sophisticated bunch to manage a double surgery. Most likely, done in one surgery. A great surgeon may elect to repair mitral but again - multiple consults. Where do you live?
As Alexander said, get other 1 or 2 other opinions. I was just a tad older than you when I had my surgeries. There are a few things to check and decide on. For instance, do you qualify for robotic surgery. Maybe not because you have two valves to take... Read more.
Agreeing with Alex and Robert opinions, our health system in Spain is different from U.S. and I can't say anything about that subject. By the other hand, I am rather old than you and I was scared too when heard the diagnostic. For me, the most important question was to... Read more.
Are you from Salisbury, MD? If so you might want to check out Penn Presbyterian or John Hopkins
It's always a shock when we find out about a major surgery. You've received great advise from my fellow warriors. Knowledge is power. God bless you.
