Hi Friends, I'm proud to home from my surgery last night. Surgery date was 7/27/21. Couple of questions. Has anyone had uncontrollable migraine aura? Not the pain just the aura. Are foods so much more vibrant in taste?

I had the auuras only a few times, but did feel that food tasted different. After 5 weeks most food tastes normal again but some like apple sauce and graham crackers taste salty. Very strange.

I had auras with and without migraines off an on most of my life. They got worse after surgery but subsidized. I still get them but less frequently. My taste buds were off fora while after surgery. I couldn't handle sweets. Unfortunately, it's ok now. I like them again and... Read more.

Welcome to recovery! I have had them on and off without pain. I'm glad you are home. Food tasted different for only a few days but I never stopped eating. Don't forget to walk even inside your house. Hope your auras get better. Be well and God bless you

It will get better as my double vision has vastly improved to only occasional. Scary though when it happens. I thought i had 2 wives one time. Yikes.

I had dozens of auras per day in the weeks and months after surgery. They slowly decreased with time. I think it was part of the body's stress reaction to the surgery.

I have auras without pain a few times a month, but I haven't had surgery yet.

Never had them (auras) until a week post surgery. Still get them occasionally (monthly). Usually brought on by stress.

Richard, keep it up, I needed a laugh. My sinus surgery and subsequent visit to the ear, nose and throat doctor who performed it, most have hurt my trigeminal nerve and I was in excruciating pain for a few days. Today I'm feeling better finally and hope it continues. What... Read more.

Ana, sorry about your nerve pain. I googled trigeminal nerve so now i am a little smarter. While driving to a sales call wednesday i had an electric shock type pain at the end of my minimal invasive scar which only lasted a second or 2 but even after 6... Read more.

I've had 2 auras so far but no pain, probably because of the pain meds I'm already on.
