Just read the article on dr. Michael Mack and TAVR surgery. He was one of the doctors who performed my TAVR surgery. I also had a cardiologist, Dr. David Brown who was part of the surgery team and this was performed at the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano .
I am in a study for low risk patients from Edwards who makes the device used. This is a randomized study with 50% getting TAVR and 50% getting ohs. Tomorrow is 3 weeks and I know I am doing very well compared to the tradional ohs. Expect this study to benefit many people so the FDA will approve this soon for low risk aortic valve replacement.
If anyone has questions I am very happy to answer whatever I can.

JJ Castillo I think it's a little different, but I was going to have the melody valve which is implanted through the groin. I chose not to do it because there is a greater risk of infection and it doesn't last as long as just replacing the valve. But I'm sure whatever your doctors think is best for you is going to be great.
